Mobile top-up codes: how does it work?

Buy a PIN code to top up a prepaid line

With Libon, you can buy a top-up code (PIN code) for a prepaid mobile line, for yourself or for a loved one. This service is available for the following operators:

  • 🇫🇷 France: Lycamobile, Lebara, La Poste Mobile and Syma

  • 🇧🇪 Belgium: Lycamobile, Orange and Proximus

  • 🇳🇱 Netherlands: Lycamobile, KPN, Lebara and Odido

  • 🇪🇷 Eritrea: Eritel

How does it work?

Unlike a standard credit top-up, the credit is not sent directly to the number: you buy a PIN code, which must then be entered on the phone containing the SIM card to be topped up.

If the line belongs to a loved one, simply send them the code (by text, WhatsApp, etc.), just like a top-up card bought in a shop.

How do I buy a code?

  1. In your Contacts at the bottom of the screen, select the number to top up.

  3. Buy the code: the PIN code is displayed at the end of the purchase.

Where can I find the code?

From the 🏠 home page, tap your 👤 Profile at the top left of the screen and select your Purchase history. Then tap your Eritel purchase.

And that’s it! Your code appears on the screen. You can easily copy it to send it to your recipient.

How do I use the code?

📩 Once you have bought the code, send it to the recipient (by text, WhatsApp, etc.). The recipient must then enter the code on their own phone, the one containing the SIM card to be topped up. The credit is only added at that point.

If you are topping up your own line, simply enter the code on your phone.

📱 The method depends on the operator: dialling a code on the phone (for example *101*CODE#), sending a text or calling a voice service. You will find the exact method for each operator in the article for the relevant country (links above).

Good to know

  • A code only works with the operator and country it was bought for. For example, a Lycamobile France code does not work on a Lycamobile line in the Netherlands or Belgium.

  • The service only applies to prepaid lines (top-up SIM cards), not to plans or contracts.

  • The PIN code is single-use: once entered, it cannot be used again. Only share it with the person who needs to top up their line.

  • Keep the code until the top-up has been confirmed on the line.
