Presentation of Benin's new phone number format for international calls with Libon

On December 1st 2024, Benin's numbering plan evolved!

From this date, the phone numbers in Benin will be made of 10 numbers instead of 8 previously.


It's therefore now necessary to add the "01" prefix between the country code and the phone number.
Wich means that, to call your loved ones on the number +229 AB CD EF GH, you will now need to use the format +229 01 AB CD EF GH.

Benin's ARCEP (Autorité de régulation des communications électroniques et de la poste) has made available an app to help you update your saved contacts automatically.
