How can you benefit from an electricity top up after a successful purchase?

Here are the steps to follow to remotely pay for your recipient's electricity using the Libon application.

Congratulations on your successful purchase! Now you are about to allow your recipient to benefit from the prepaid electricity top-up. Here are the steps you need to take to ensure that the top-up is used correctly:

1. Sending the code to the owner of the electricity meter.

Please note that the recipient will not automatically receive the recharge code. It is up to you, as a Libon customer, to send them the code. Make sure you provide the top-up code to your recipient so that they can use it to reload their prepaid electricity meter.

The code to be transmitted is available from the home screen and the purchase history. Click on your purchase and the code to be transmitted will be displayed:

The share button lets you easily forward it to your recipient.

2. Using the code on the electricity meter

It is important to note that the top-up code must be used directly on the prepaid electricity meter and not in the Libon application. Make sure your recipient understands that the code must be entered on their own electricity meter. For more details, please refer to the article dedicated to this subject.

3. Recommended methods for transmitting the code

We advise you to use instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp or any other written conversation system to send the code to your recipient. This will allow the reload code to be communicated clearly and securely.

4. Correspondence between the top-up code and the meter number

Please note that a top-up code purchased via Libon corresponds to an ISAGO meter number in Mali, Woyofal in Senegal, CI-ENERGIES aka CIE in Côte d'Ivoire, NAWEC in Gambia, SONABEL in Burkina Faso, SBEE & BEDC in Benin, CEET in Togo, EAGB in Guinea-Bissau.

Make sure your recipient uses the specific top-up code that corresponds to their own meter number.

A top up code is for a single use only and can only be used for the meter with which it is associated. It cannot be used for a different meter.

By following these steps, you will enable your recipient to take full advantage of the prepaid electricity top-up you purchased.
